Mr Satyadas is a friendly consultant who put me at ease on first meeting. He clearly explained the problems with my gall bladder and liver, recommended treatment and suggested life style changes, for which I am extremely grateful. I had surgery two weeks ago. He telephoned my son immediately after the operation to put him and my husband at ease. He visited me that day and the following day in hospital. I have recovered very well and that is down to the advice and expertise of Mr Satyadas. I have now been discharged. Mr Satyadas is not just interested in a diagnosis and immediate treatment. He looks to the future to see what you, the patient, can do to improve your situation and maintain good health. He encourages good practice and takes time to explore options with you, with your best interests in mind. He is kind but speaks with authority so you do listen and take heed. My experience, from first consultation to discharge, has been excellent. Without hesitation I recommend Mr Satyadas.

Following diagnosis of a tumour on my liver which was considered inoperable, I was referred to Mr Thomas Satyadas at the MRI. After considering scans and a biopsy he said he was prepared to operate and gave me the confidence to have this done. Immediately following the operation he personally rang my wife to tell her it had all gone well. As soon as he had the results of the operation from the lab Mr Satyadas rang me at home to tell me he had successfully removed all of the tumour and no further treatment was necessary. I would recommend Thomas Satyadas to anyone needing surgery. Me and my family would like to thank him and his team for the friendly, competent and professional care I received. Mike Wade

I can't praise Mr Satayadas enough. I recently had an operation to remove my gall bladder and a small section of my liver. I am 74 years old and was very apprehensive and worried about the op and the consequences. Mr Satayadas and his team put me at ease, were kind, and thorough with the explanation of every step of the surgery, with great advice for pre and post care. Mr Satayadas was successful in delivering keyhole surgery, in which I am so grateful. My recovery has been speedy and full. Last Thursday I went for my follow up appointment and results and I am delighted that I have the all clear. The care I received from Mr Satayadas and MRI has been fantastic. I would highly recommend his work. Many thanks. Gillian Smith and family

I first met Mr Thomas Satyadas when I attended a meeting with him at the MRI prior to having a pre/opp assessment for a liver operation (Operation 25th April 2016). During the meeting Mr Satyadas explained exactly how he would perform the surgery, removing a tumor off my liver, by way of a diagram and orally. I found Mr Satyadas put me at ease with his manner and gave me a great deal of confidence in his ability to carry the operation successfully. After surgery I again met Mr Satyadas whilst on the ward and can only say is bedside manner is fantastic. I have since seen a doctor at the Christie hospital and also my GP, both have commented on te neatness of the scar I now have after the surgery. I have taken this as a testament to the surgeons skill.

I would like to express my deep felt gratitude to Mr Thomas Satyadas in Manchester Royal Infirmary. Mr Satyadas is my Consultant Surgeon. I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. The first time I met Mr Satyadas back in July 2015 I knew and felt that I was in good hands. He assured and gave me and my family the courage for the success of the operation which made me feel comfortable and safe. I didn’t feel he was my surgeon I felt he was my friend. The day of the operation I was restless as I didn’t know if I would see my family again but my Satyadas made me feel safe to proceed with the operation. After the operation Mr Satyadas came and saw me and my family almost every day which gave me the courage to recovery and support to my family, he was only a phone call away for any support. He would come and see me with his students, seeing him teaching his students was impressive and excellent as it shows Mr Satyadas’s commitment to human lives and their care. While I was in hospital I remember asking Mr Satyadas a question. I asked him “ I have seen you working 7 days a week don’t you go home?”, Mr Satyadas replied I quote “Hospital is my home, Patients are my family that’s why I am here to look after my families”. This impressed me so much and made me realised as to what a great human being he is. I hope there are more humans like Mr Thomas Satyadas. Before I was discharged Mr Satyadas made sure I was stocked up with medications and wound bandages for at least 2 weeks for me to take home. After I was discharged Mr Satyadas ensured I was in regular contact with him even if he was busy he would see me. He made sure district nurses were arranged for my medications and wounds or any other relevant care needed for at least 3 months. When attend for appointments arranged with my convenient time or late Mr Satyadas ensured he would see me before I leave the Hospital. Mr Satyadas’ s secretaries Sister Adele Mcneillie, Sister Claire Newton, The HDU team, Ward 8 sisters gave me the best care and have been excellent and supportive for my recovery. I feel that it is due to his actions and care I am alive and in recovery from Pancreatic Cancer. His input in my care plan since the initial diagnosis has been excellent and still is to this date. Me and my family have received so much help and support from Mr Thomas Satyadas. I will always remember what he has done for me for as long as I am alive and feel indebted for my life to him. Thank you Mr. M. Hammad Hospital No: M01/19004
